He represents business owners, contractors, commercial developers, and residential developers in a variety of construction, finance, and transactional matters throughout the state of Utah and nationally.

Burt’s real estate and development practice involves diverse and sophisticated business, real estate and construction disputes and transactions, and includes, as examples, commercial finance and leasing transactions, title and boundary issues, and interference with property interests.

Burt’s corporate practice involves partnerships, corporate and LLC relationships, mergers and acquisitions, and includes, as examples, business organization and structuring, purchase and sale of privately owned businesses, and contract negotiation. Over his career, Burt has closed many millions of dollars in real estate and business transactions, with single business transactions involving amounts as high as several hundred million dollars. Burt also assists with litigation and dispute resolution, successfully resolving corporate and partnership disputes for many clients, both through litigation and other means.

Burt also provides estate planning to clients with estates ranging from large (over $100 million in assets) to medium-sized (over $10 million in assets). His estate planning practice necessitates experience in probate matters, estate tax, and asset protection planning.
